But in this case, blood will be drawn. After the blood is processed, it will be injected back into the scalp.

PRP is designed to trigger hair growth upon blood supply being increased. As with stem cell therapy, follicles start reproducing hair again. The hair shaft also thickens. While stem cell therapy requires several sessions, PRP includes only three. The entire PRP process takes anything from eight to twelve weeks to complete. During the stem cell therapy, stem cells are separated from its tissue. A centrifuge is used for this procedure.

It is designed to leave a cell suspension which is then injected back into the scalp areas that have experienced hair loss. It should be noted that hybrid stem cell therapies are available to patients at some clinics. But these alternatives have not yet been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, or FDA. The FDA advises its consumers to only use stem cell therapies that it has approved.

If not that, the FDA approves the use of therapies that currently fall under what is known as the Investigational New Drug Application, or IND. These therapies include the removal of fat cells from the abdomen area through liposuction and under local anesthesia.
